Hi, everyone -
I'm working through some questions about how to analyze my data for a
literature review on the commercialization of the internet. I recognize
that I'm sending this out a bit late. Even if you don't have time to look
at my materials, please still come and chat with us during the workshop if
you can!
There is much more context in the document. Please feel free to add
comments or questions to the document.

Colleagues,
Please feel free to share these opportunities with relevant students,
colleagues, and lists.
1: Opening in computational collective behavior/cognitive science
(experimental; UC Davis)
2: Opening in computational collective behavior/cognitive science
(experimental; Cornell)
3: Opening in the CSS of open source governance and networks
(observational; UC Davis)
=== Positions 1 & 2 ===
Two postdocs in computational collective behavior/cognitive science
We are recruiting two postdocs for an interdisciplinary NSF-funded
project in computational collective behavior and cognitive science. The
goal of the research is to discover how collectives can be made more
creative, intelligent and when they can select the rules governing their
interactions. The focus of the positions is on designing and running
large-scale online behavioral experiments.
Strong applicants will have quantitative and computational training in
behavioral, cognitive, social science, or computer/information science.
We will recruit one postdoc at UC Davis and one at Cornell. The
positions will remain open until filled, starting likely in August 2025,
potentially sooner. Potential applicants should feel comfortable
contacting Seth Frey (sethfrey(a)ucdavis.edu) and Nori Jacoby
(kj338(a)cornell.edu) directly with questions about the opening, including
its current status.

Hi y'all,
Passing along this CFP. I've done lightning talks for this event before --
looks like it is f2f in Barcelona in November. My experience was positive;
as you might expect they tend to draw in civil society folks, recent grads,
technologists, etc.

Hello Kaylea,
We care deeply about the future of the web—its purpose, its potential, and
the people it serves. That’s why I’m reaching out. *Mozilla Festival 2025
is coming up, and your voice can shape it.* Lead a session and you’ll gain
visibility, connect with a global community, and walk away with valuable
feedback and a new network of like-minded individuals.
The *festival is in Barcelona from November 7-9, and it’s all about
Unlearning.* We will challenge the default settings of the digital world
and reimagine a radically better future. We’re questioning all the
norms—and we need your perspective to do it.
*Ready to lead a session at Mozilla Festival 2025 in Barcelona? Submissions
are now open.* <https://links.mozilla.org/t/y-l-cujdilt-dikkkltjlt-i/>
* Submit your session proposal →*
<https://links.mozilla.org/t/y-l-cujdilt-dikkkltjlt-d/>

in the format that works best—from leading a talk, to curating an
installation, or something in between.
*I hope you’ll submit a proposal about a cause you are passionate about
before May 21st.* I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes through.
*Submit your session proposal today.*
